A.H.A. Basic Life Support Instructor Course
The healthcare instructor course provides the instructor candidate with the knowledge and skills to conduct basic life support (BLS) education according to AHA standards. Candidates will be guided in the development of teaching techniques and CPR concepts through lecture and manikin practice.
HOW TO BECOME AN AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION BLS CPR INSTRUCTOR
The BLS Instructor course teaches the methods needed to effectively instruct others in CPA/AED, and First Aid. The AHA requires BLS instructors to be 18 years of age. Cost is $250.00
Step One/Prerequisites
1. Current AHA (American Heart Association) BLS Provider card (Email a copy of your card to floridacprhearttraining@gmail.com).
2. Complete BLS Instructor Essentials Online course. See Link below. Print Certificate and email to floridacprhearttraining@gmail.com.
3. Obtain the BLS Instructor Manual at ShopCPR.Heart. Link below.
4. Register for a BLS Instructor Class at Register tab.
Step Two/Attend the Instructor Course
Attend our American Heart Association's BLS for Healthcare Provider Instructor class.
Bring the documents listed above and pay $250 when you arrive to class.
Step Three/Get Monitored Teaching a Class
Receive your BLS Instructor card after being monitored successfully teaching a BLS/CPR class within 6 months of completion of our Instructor class. Instructor cards are received approximately 10 days after being monitored.
BLS Instructor Essentials Course: You will do online at https://shopcpr.heart.org/bls-instructor-essentials-online. Cost is $38. The course takes approximately 1-2 hours to complete. Please complete the appropriate discipline specific course (BLS) and bring your completion of Instructor course.

Provides lesson maps and information for teaching the classroom-based and blended-learning options for the Basic Life Support (BLS) course. You can purchase at Shopcpr.heart.org. Link at https://shopcpr.heart.org/bls-instructor-manual. Cost is $46.00
